2014 Civic Leadership Honoree: Timothy F. Maloney
Tim Maloney is one of Maryland’s leading trial lawyers. In 2014, he was named “trial lawyer of the year” by the Maryland State Bar litigation section and receive the John Hardwicke Award for outstanding contributions to administrative law. He is also a recipient of the trial lawyer of the year by the Maryland Association of Justice. Maloney serves on the Appellate Nominating Commission and recently completed 16 years on the Rules Committee of the Court of Appeals.
Maloney served 16 years in the Maryland legislature, where he was instrumental in bringing significant public investment to Prince George’s County, including the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, the Bowie Baysox Stadium, Prince George’s County Courthouse, Hyattsville Justice Center, and College Park Airport Museum. In a WJLA-TV 7 poll, his colleagues voted him one of the three most effective members of the legislature.
He serves on the executive board of the University of Maryland Foundation, Maryland Catholic Conference, Archbishop Carroll High school and St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth and Families.
