The Community Foundation Congratulates Youth Workforce Leaders Academy Participants

Earlier this summer, Community Foundation grantees DC Alliance of Youth Advocates and the Institute for Educational Leadership kicked off their new project, the Youth Workforce Leaders Academy (YWLA). Funded by the Greater Washington Workforce Development Collaborative, YWLA is a year-long learning community designed to support professionals at District of Columbia youth workforce development providers, including nonprofit and government agency staff, to build their own skills as well as bring innovative and proven practices back to their organizations.

This spring, fifteen local professionals were selected to participate in YWLA through a competitive application process. The cohort has already held two excellent sessions featuring content experts including Taryn Williams, White House Associate Director of Public Engagement and Bridget Brown, Executive Director of the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals.

The Community Foundation congratulates the YWLA participants and looks forward to a great year of conversation and learning!
