Year End Grantmaking and Giving
The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region would like to acknowledge the generosity exhibited by our donors in 2014. Throughout the year you’ve continued to demonstrate a strong philanthropic spirit – maintaining and establishing new funds, and recommending thousands of grants to local and national nonprofit organizations.
In an effort to assist you with carrying out your end-of-year philanthropic goals, please see below for The Community Foundation’s deadlines regarding year-end giving and grantmaking activities:
Recommending Grants From Your Donor-Advised Fund
Deadline: December 19, 2014
Grant recommendations submitted to The Community Foundation by December 19th will be sent out by December 31st, provided the organization meets the Foundation’s due diligence requirements. Grants submitted after December 19th will be processed in the order in which they are received and mailed to the grantee as soon as possible. Our staff will be processing grants throughout the holiday season, up to and including December 31, 2014.

Making Gifts To The Community Foundation
Deadline: December 31, 2014
Stock and cash gifts (check, wire, online) submitted to The Community Foundation by December 31st will be acknowledged as a 2014 contributions.
Gifts made via check can be sent to:

*Please include the name of the fund in the memo line of the check.
**Checks sent by US Postal Service mail can be acknowledged as a 2014 contribution, if it’s postmarked by the US Postal Service by December 31st.
Gifts made via wire transfer:
Please contact the Finance Department at 202-955-5890 for instructions on making gifts via wire transfer. Note the gift must be in The Community Foundation’s account by December 31st, to be acknowledged as a 2014 contribution. If you have any questions please call 202-955-5890 and speak to a Finance Representative.
Gifts made via online:
Gifts can be made online at www.thecommunityfoundation.org.
