The Community Leadership Fund – Sharing Prince George’s

What is Sharing PGC?
Sharing PGC, a program of The Community Foundation in Prince George’s County, is an education and grantmaking initiative for civic and philanthropically minded individuals. Through this initiative, donors to Sharing PGC and other stakeholders come together to learn, first-hand, about the challenges facing Prince George’s County’s most vulnerable residents. They engage in a peer-led grant review process to identify and support organizations that are effectively responding to the most critical needs.

How Does Sharing PGC Work?
Eligible nonprofit organizations apply annually for funding consideration from Sharing PGC. These requests are reviewed by donors who collectively comprise the Sharing PGC Advisory Committee. Sharing PGC offers a unique opportunity for donors to learn about the needs in the County and the efforts of high performing organizations that are making a real difference in the lives of children and families. Sharing PGC enables committee members to leverage their giving by combining it with others for greater impact. Through Sharing PGC, donors also learn about effective philanthropy. They attend, along with staff, in depth site visits, and join with their peers to identify the best investments for achieving community impact.
