Types of GIFTS WE can ACCEPT

Complex Assets

Closely held stock, real estate, or other real assets.

Liquid Assets

Cash, credit card, or publicly traded securities can easily be used to add philanthropic resources to a fund. 

Private Foundation Assets

Your existing private foundation may also be converted into a component fund within The Community Foundation. You can retain the name and purpose of the private foundation while alleviating the administrative and compliance burdens.

Community Benefit Agreements

The Community Foundation has worked with local governments and businesses to build diverse community benefit collaboratives, including managing MGM National Harbor’s investments in improving the quality of life for Prince George’s County residents.

Disaster Response

The Community Foundation has helped several corporate partners support large-scale disaster relief and recovery efforts. Following Hurricane Harvey, we disbursed grants to 3,000 employees of Capital One, Fannie Mae, and Marriott International in the greater Houston area.

Issues Exploration

By sharing our knowledge of issues facing the region and relationships with high-impact nonprofits, The Community Foundation has helped Willkie Farr & Gallagher provide more than $2 million in support of educational and enrichment programs for underserved youth.

A partnership with JPMorgan Chase & Co. on new research to address the skills gap in IT and healthcare sectors led to a $1 million grantmaking initiative aimed at helping workers advance skills to launch living-wage careers and meet the talent needs of local employers.
