Celebrating 50 Years of History, Hope, and Healing
The Greater Washington Community Foundation’s mission is to lead, mobilize, and ignite the power of philanthropy to build a racially equitable, just, and thriving region where every person prospers. Together with our donors and partners, we have unleashed the transformational power of nearly $1.7 billion in philanthropic investments since 1973 to create lasting impact for our region. In 2023, we are proud to celebrate five decades of history-making work which has inspired hope and fostered healing for our community.
50 Years of Lasting Impact on the Greater Washington Region
As we reflect on our first 50 years and what we hope to accomplish in the next 50 years, we were proud to launch the leadership phase of Together, We Prosper: A Campaign for Economic Justice to set us on the path to close our region’s racial wealth gap and endow Greater Washington. The campaign was off to a great start in FY23 and we will go public with the campaign in FY24.
