Children’s opportunity fund
Founded in 2016 as a partnership between The Community Foundation, Montgomery County Public Schools, and Montgomery County Government, the Children’s Opportunity Fund was tapped to become the Children’s Opportunity Alliance, an independent nonprofit that will serve as the County’s Early Care and Education Coordinating Entity.

The Emerging Leaders Impact Fund brought together young professionals to learn about strategic philanthropy and pool their resources toward $10,000 in microgrants to BECAUSEICAN, Ivy Community Charities, Jacob’s Ladder, and L.E.E.P. to College Foundation for programs working to increase economic mobility.
LGBTQ+ Fund for Philanthropy
The LGBTQ+ Fund for Philanthropy renewed its inaugural investments to address the needs of our region’s LGBTQ+ community through providing services and advocacy.
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND
The Domestic Violence Community Assistance Grant Fund made $280,000 in grants to provide survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking with counseling, housing, transportation, and legal services, and to implement prevention programming.
Faith and Philanthropy in Action
Our inaugural Faith and Philanthropy Forum convened faith, nonprofit, and philanthropic leaders around opportunities for deeper collaboration to help close the racial wealth gap.
We partnered with Enterprise Community Partners to expand its Prince George’s County Faith-Based Development Initiative and assist seven houses of worship with converting their vacant land into affordable homes.
We also partnered with the Jewish Community Foundation and WRAG to host a series of dialogues about how our region’s Black and Jewish communities can operate with greater alignment and solidarity to address antisemitism, anti-Black racism, and bigotry.
The Partnership to End Homelessness
The Partnership to End Homelessness continued to invest in Housing Justice in DC; conduct and support advocacy efforts to secure funding for deeply affordable housing; partner on impact investments to create and preserve 500 affordable homes; and co-lead a collaborative working to prevent evictions. The Partnership also supported permanent supportive housing (PSH) providers to leverage millions of dollars in new, annual federal resources through Medicaid to increase service quality and support.
Sharing Community Funds
Sharing Community Funds brought donors together to visit our priority neighborhoods throughout the region, learn about the work of visionary nonprofits, and invest $810,000 in strategic grants focused on basic needs, economic mobility, and wealth building.
