Join us at the Intersection

The Community Foundation exists as a point of intersection. We guide our donors on their philanthropic journeys while balancing the competing demands of today’s most pressing issues and the unforeseeable challenges of the future.

Join us on October 14 at our virtual annual meeting for an exploration of the intersection of wealth and need in our region and an exciting look at our future direction as a community philanthropy.

A distinguished group of philanthropic and financial experts will offer their personal and professional reflections on the racial wealth gap and its effects on the economy, educational outcomes, the environment and more. We will examine the possibility of redefining wealth to encompass multiple forms of capital that can help advance the health and prosperity of our community.

Our featured speakers include:

This virtual convening highlighted Urban’s findings on philanthropic support and will gather speakers to reflect on the implications and future of philanthropic efforts aimed at transferring cash directly to individuals.

The Greater Washington Community Foundation launched Voices of the Community (VoicesDMV), a new initiative designed to hear directly from residents about the challenges and opportunities facing our region. Community conversations play a vital role in surfacing resident stories and perspectives from across the region that can be shared with community organizations, funders, businesses, government, and others who are working to make a positive difference in our region. The evening included large and small group conversations on issues such as health, education, housing, transportation, crime, and overall community well-being.This initiative will help to inform a collective vision for the region’s future and efforts to improve equity, access, and opportunity for all.
